Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention


This innovative journal presents a wide range of practical, informative viewpoints from many of the most respected professionals involved internationally in the treatment of eating disorders. It features articles on prevention, feminist theory, research, multicultural issues, treatment, multidisciplinary perspectives and much more. Also, each issue contains metaphorical stories, book and film reviews, "How I Practice," questions and answers, and " The Last Word." A relevant, timely forum, appropriate for all therapists, treatment facilities, clinical researchers, and educators.

Submission Guidelines

Authors preparing manuscripts for EATING DISORDERS: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. In particular:

1) email submissions are preferred, four copies of the original manuscript must be sent with the knowledge that they will not be returned

2) text, quotations, references and notes must be neatly typed and double-spaced

3) originals of all tables and figures must be included

4) a 100-word abstract of the article should be included

5) Articles which are accepted for publication should be provided on computer disk or via electronic medium (Macintosh or DOS-compatible programs)

Article submissions should be sent via e-mail to Leigh Cohn, Editor-in-Chief (leigh@gurze.net). He will accept PDF or WORD files as e-mail attachments. Complete contact information must be included in the cover letter, which should be in the form of an e-mail. The subject line must state: "ED Journal Submission", and a confirmation will be sent back. If no response is received within 10 days, the author should write another e-mail for verification of receipt.

EATING DISORDERS: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention is published 5 times per year.

All articles must be original material, not previously published or soon to be published by any other publisher. Address all editorial communications to:
